Why should I use the SEEC 50001 Ready Navigator?

The SEEC 50001 Ready Navigator has been developed by the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC) to align with the energy management system best practices outlined in ISO 50001. Use of the Navigator ensures that your organization is following the international best practice guidelines to establish and maintain of energy management systems, and facilitates a team-based approach to its implementation. The Navigator is designed to help your organization build towards all parts of ISO 50001, so that you can self-declare to being “SEEC 50001 Ready” or pursue ISO 50001 certification.

What is the SEEC 50001 Ready Program?

SEEC 50001 Ready is a SEEC designation for facilities and organizations that have implemented an ISO 50001-based energy management system using the guidance in the SEEC 50001 Ready Navigator. To be SEEC 50001 Ready recognized, organizations are responsible for completing the 25 Navigator tasks, self-declaring to their completion (which includes submitting evidence of completion for a few select tasks), and measuring energy performance over time. Users of the Navigator can submit their facilities for SEEC 50001 Ready recognition directly through Navigator. For more information, inquire through the Contact Us page.

How do I use the SEEC 50001 Ready Navigator?

The SEEC 50001 Ready Navigator is an online application that provides detailed guidance on how to develop and maintain a world-class energy management system based on the principles of ISO 50001. The free Navigator app is structured into a total of 25 tasks organized under seven topic areas: Context of the organization, Leadership, Planning, Support, Operation, Performance Evaluation, and Improvement. Each task corresponds directly with establishing the energy management system requirements specified in ISO 50001. Each task includes three tabs that describe the high level (“Getting It Done”), general synopsis (“Task Overview”), and technical requirements (“Full Description”) to help you complete the task. Also included within each task is guidance of special relevance to organizations located in Saudi Arabia.

Once you are logged in, you can use Navigator to track your progress on the completion of each task, and of the project as a whole. You can set up multiple projects in Navigator. You can also assign tasks to members of your energy team, and use the Navigator to coordinate and streamline your team’s efforts. If you need further assistance with any of the tasks, you can access the SEEC Help Desk to ask questions.
